Dolores Catania wanted to “throw things” at Jennifer Aydin during a brawl
Dolores Catania says she came close to physically arguing with Jennifer Aydin during their heated fight during the season 13 premiere of “Real Housewives of New Jersey”.
However, the 52-year-old reality star made it clear on Friday during a live taping “Virtual Reali-Tea” Podcast Page Six how her boyfriend, Paul “Paulie” Connell, helped her stay calm.
“In this scene [Connell] she’s standing behind me and he puts his hand on my back and I wanted to throw things, I wanted to run after her out the door and I wanted to catch her,” Catania told hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real.
She added, “It may have saved Jennifer’s life this season that I had someone.”
Connell agreed, “I think I actually saved Jennifer’s life.”
Aydin, 45, called Catania the “king of c-t” in last Thursday’s episode because she thought the former prison officer had been a bad friend of hers in the previous year.
The stay-at-home mom believed Catania was to blame for the “jump”.[ing] ship” when their “RHONJ” co-star Margaret Josephs brought up the topic of her husband Bill Aydin’s infidelity in Season 12.
“You know what? You and I disagree on what a good friend is,” Catania said in her defense on Thursday. You are not.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer continued to shout obscenities as she left the assembly, saying, “Fuck her, fuck her, she looks like an old handbag.”
Catania further explained in “Virtual Reali-Tea” why having a good partner has helped her stay calm as she no longer has “the weight of the world” on her shoulders.
“I’m divorced [for] I was 25 years old and raised two kids on my own and had a lot of responsibilities and was sometimes impatient with things because of all the stuff I was wearing,” he told Bravolebrity.
“I have someone in my life who takes a lot of heat off-camera [of] me in matters.
Catania started dating Connell in late 2021 and previously told us about her Irish lover: “He’s the voice of reason, he’s very logical and makes a lot of sense. He puts a lot of wisdom into it. He’s very, very funny and very intelligent.”
Catania was previously married to Frank Catania, with whom she has a 24-year-old son, Frankie Catania, and a 27-year-old daughter, Gabrielle Catania.
She then dated her longtime boyfriend, Dr. David Principe, and the ups and downs of their relationship are chronicled in “RHONJ”. They eventually separated in the summer of 2021.
“Real Housewives of New Jersey” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo. New episodes of Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast are released on Thursdays.
