In 2009, Segel attended the premiere of I Love You, Man in Austin. In the 1999 NBC comedy-drama show Freaks and Geeks, Segel’s first major role was as stoner “freak” Nick Andopolis. The show was well-liked by critics, but it didn’t last long. The show was about a group of high school students in suburban Detroit in 1980.
