Man, 36, dead after overnight shooting in Hamilton, police say

A 36-year-old Hamilton man has died following a shooting in the city Tuesday night, police said.

Another person turned up at local hospital with gunshot wound, police say

A 36-year-old Hamilton man has died following a shooting in the city Tuesday night, police said. 

Shortly before 11 p.m. Hamilton police responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the area of Herkimer Street and Caroline Street South. 

When officers arrived they found a man in an alley suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The victim was transported to hospital where he died, police said.

Police said they received information shortly after the shooting that an individual turned up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigators are trying to determine if the two incidents are related.

Officers continue to hold the scene at Herkimer Street and Caroline Street South, where multiple bullet casings were located.
