Hamilton police say a man was taken to hospital after a crash on his motorcycle, which also closed the westbound Lincoln Alexander Parkway at Garth Street.

The police service posted about the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter, just before 9 a.m.

Const. Indy Bharaj told CBC Hamilton an SUV and a motorcycle collided at roughly 8:40 a.m.

The man on the motorcycle was taken to hospital, Bharaj said.

The man in his 20s was in serious but stable condition and was speaking with paramedics on his way to the hospital, according to Dave Thompson, a superintendent with the Hamilton Paramedic Service.

Bharaj said it’s unclear how long the Linc will be closed for as police are still investigating.

He said officers are investigating who is at fault for the crash.
