Rihanna gets Met Gala-inspired wax figure before Super Bowl 2023

Ahead of Rihanna’s Super Bowl 2023 halftime show performance, Madame Tussauds got to work, work, work, work, work, work.

The famous wax museum has unveiled a new figure in honor of the 34-year-old “Umbrella” hitmaker, modeled after her iconic ensemble from the 2018 Met Gala red carpet.

For the star-studded event — the theme of which was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” — Rihanna went full sexy Pope in a Maison Margiela Artisanal outfit comprised of a sculptural jacket and skirt worn over a bustier dress, all embellished with pearls, sparkling stones and silver thread.

The Bad Gal, who co-chaired the gala alongside Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace and Anna Wintour, topped off her head-turning look with a matching bishop’s hat by Stephen Jones Millinery.

Rihanna’s doppelganger was unveiled on Wednesday at Madame Tussauds’ Times Square museum, with LED lights sprinkled over her intricate ensemble to make sure it shines bright like a diamond.

The wax figure was created by a team in London who worked for six months to capture Rihanna’s Met getup completely.

Even her manicure and jewelry were recreated, with wax Rihanna wearing the same rings and diamond anklet as well as bedazzled nails.

RiRi’s big reveal is just in time for her Super Bowl halftime performance Sunday, which will mark the first time she’s performed live on a major stage since she released “Anti” in 2016.

In fact, another wax figure paying homage to the Fenty Beauty creator is hitting Madame Tussauds’ Orlando location later this year — and will be wearing her Super Bowl outfit.

“Rihanna is sure to make history with her upcoming live show this Sunday so the timing is perfect for us to reveal her new figure exclusively at Madame Tussauds New York where fans can admire and pose with the icon,” Madame Tussauds New York general manager Joerg Hanel said in a statement.
